Holland Lop Does
Bunny Hop's KD Lang
KD is one of my 2013 acquisitions that I picked up at the Amherst Show in the spring. She has everything that I was looking for in a show/brood doe. She was a bit shy at first but motherhood has made her more mellow. After several litters, I can say that her mothering nature is second to none.
Bunny Hop's Taffy
Taffy Girl is a real sweetheart and came to me first as a special guest but has since become a permanent fixture. Thanks to Asia Shay who kindly agreed to part with her, I have added a lovely cream to the colour pool. She is a gentle lady and very easy to handle. She is a proven mamma and goes above and beyond what a I want when it comes to caring for her babies.
ShayD's Hana
Don't tell her but Hana is tiny which was a bit of a concern for me as I really wanted a doe that was a carbon copy of her mother, ShayD's Couru, in every respect. In spite of her size, she had a litter of four healthy babies in mid-August and came through the delivery with flying colours. From the outset she was able to keep them fed, fat and content. Apart from her breeding success, she is a darling. She would be happy to let me carry her around all day but we have an agreement that I will pick her up if she comes back to me when I want to put her back in her cage. Not all of them do, you know.
ShayD's Dream Machine - Rest in peace
Dream came to live with us from ShayD Fields Rabbitry in Springhill, Nova Scotia. As I have become friends with Asia, I have also come to know and love her Holland Lops. Dream had the size and physical features that I wanted and I seized the opportunity to whisk her away. She was a little girl with a big personality and as much as I tried to change her housekeeping habits, when my back was turned, she changed things back the way she liked them. Sadly, she succumbed to flystrike in the dog days of July 2013 and it was heartbreaking to watch as she lost the battle. Her line continues in Asia's rabbitry through the efforts of Carjoys & ShayD's Terry.
