About Me
My name is Carol Joyce MacLean and my rabbitry name is a combination of my two given names. Now that you know that I'm not a raving car fanatic, I will tell you what I really am.
I'm new to raising rabbits but I have always had a love for all animals. I've owned Old English Sheepdogs, several cats and one or two budgies. Along the way, I managed to produce two human sons and much of what I know about raising bunnies is as a result of raising my boys.
I got involved with rabbits in 2011. I had retired from an office job and wanted a hobby that was both fun and rewarding. Unlike other household pets, these little guys don't whine at the door or bring home field mice as smelly gifts. I think I was plain lucky when I chose the Holland Lop as my first rabbit as I didn't know how many other options were out there. I love their gentle inquisitive nature and have no desire to add any other breeds. Breeding Holland Lops was the logical next step.
At present I have three adult bucks and four adult does and a few kits at various stages of development.
Carjoy Lops Rabbitry is located in Dorchester, New Brunswick, Canada where I have a bunny room with 8 holes. I also have a bunny barn in Economy, Nova Scotia where my herd spends the summer months. It is the cupola and weather vane on that building that you can see as my banner.
I encourage you to look over my website. If there is anything on the 'Nursery' or 'For Sale' tabs that interests you, please don't hesitate to contact me.
My rabbitry is registered with the American Rabbit Breeders Association.
